New Leadership at St. Luke’s Emergency Services
It is our pleasure to announce the appointment of Dr. Rebecca Pequeno as chairman of St. Luke’s University Health Network Emergency Services. As chairman, Dr. Pequeno will provide administrative and clinical direction for network emergency services and assure effective relationships with other network departments, referring providers and pre-hospital community services.
Dr. Pequeno was born at St. Luke’s Hospital and grew up in the Lehigh Valley. She earned her undergraduate degree at Juniata College and is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. Pequeno completed her Emergency Medicine Residency at St. Luke’s University Health Network and served as chief resident in her final year. She spent three years at Easton Hospital where she earned the title of assistant director of the Emergency Department. Upon returning to St. Luke’s in 2007, Dr. Pequeno assumed a clinical role with a focus on working with our local EMS providers. In 2011, she became the director of Emergency Medicine at St. Luke’s Anderson Campus. Dr. Pequeno is the co-chair of the Network Emergency Management Committee and sits on the Executive Board of the Eastern PA EMS council.
Dr. Pequeno lives in Bethlehem with her husband Pete and 9 year-old daughter Katelyn.
