Furthering Access to Stroke Telemedicine Highlighted at PNS Meeting
Time matters when it comes to stroke, and fast access to care is critical. The FAST Act – Furthering Access to Stroke Telemedicine – a bill in the U.S. House can help. If passed, Medicare will be required to cover telestroke services regardless of location, making it easier for patients to connect with specialists. Congressman Charles Dent, who supports the bill, recently addressed neurologists practicing throughout the commonwealth at the Pennsylvania Neurological Society Annual Meeting at the Sands Event Center in Bethlehem. The conference was sponsored by St. Luke’s Center for Neuroscience.
