New Leadership at St. Luke’s Psychiatric Associates
St. Luke’s Psychiatric Associates is pleased to announce that Tania Martinez-Jimenez, MD, has been named Interim Chief of Psychiatry for the Behavioral Medicine Department effective May 1. Dr. Martinez-Jimenez is currently Lead Psychiatrist and will now also assist in administrative and clinical leadership.
Dr. Martinez-Jimenez received her Medical degree in 2003 from Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. Her residency training followed, 2003-2007, at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center where she was the Chief Resident. From 2007-2013, Dr. Martinez-Jimenez worked at Hispanic American Organization Counseling Services where she was named Medical Director in 2009. She has also served as Chair and Board member of the Mental Health Committee for the Lehigh County MH/MR Advisory Board. She will continue to provide outpatient services at the Bethlehem office.
Outside of work, her three-year-old daughter, meditation classes, yoga workshops, ASPCA participation (she adopted a cat in 2004 and contributes regularly), and community fundraising events such as the High Mark Walk are how she divides her time.
Recently, Dr. Martinez-Jimenez has gotten into knitting and has completed projects ranging from dishcloths to blankets.
“I’m the first physician in my family,” Dr. Tania says, “and I love my job.”
