New St. Luke’s Practice Expands Access to Pediatric Neurology

Elizabeth T. Corbo, MD, opened a new pediatric neurology practice, St. Luke’s Pediatric Neurology, at 306 S. New Street, Suite 303, in Bethlehem this month. At the end of the year, the practice will move to offices in the Fairmont Village Shopping Center at 7001 North Route 309 in Coopersburg.

Dr. Corbo will treat patients for neurological disorders including, but not limited to epilepsy, headaches, tic and movement disorders, cerebral palsy, developmental delay and neurocutaneous syndrome, a group of brain, spine and peripheral nerve disorders.

Dr. Corbo was drawn to this specialty by several earlier life experiences. From a young age, she worked with children of varying special needs. Later, a neurology diagnosis personally affected her family – when her father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

“When it came time to choosing my specialty, I took the sum of all these experiences to ultimately craft a future career that I can personally relate to and honestly say wholeheartedly I have a true passion for,” Dr. Corbo said.

Dr. Corbo is looking forward to bringing this much needed service to patients and their families in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. “I consider myself very fortunate to be working at St. Luke’s,” she said.  “One reward, among many, will be having the ability to form long-term relationships with patients and their families. In my field, quite a few are ultimately diagnosed with chronic conditions. Being able to build a strong bond over our time together, along with being given the honor to be the treating physician by these families, is an aspect I consider most satisfying.”

The practice will treat pediatric patients from birth to 18.

Dr. Corbo has relocated to the area and lives with her husband and daughter, who just turned 1, and the family dog. When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, including skiing together.
