St. Luke’s Neurology Associates is Pleased to Welcome – Lizbeth de Padua, MD
Dr. Lizbeth de Padua obtained her medical degree from the University of the Philippines, graduating with honors in 1981. She did her Internal Medicine internship at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and her Neurology residency at Temple University, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. In 1989, she did an Epilepsy Fellowship at the Minnesota Comprehensive Epilepsy Program (MINCEP), the nation’s first private practice epilepsy center, established in 1964, where she was awarded the Epilepsy Foundation of America’s Wilder-Penfield Scholarship Grant.
Dr. de Padua then went into private practice, establishing and serving as Medical Director of a Level 4 Epilepsy Center at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO, before returning Minnesota in 2007 to join the staff of MINCEP Epilepsy Care. She has extensive experience in the management of intractable epilepsy patients both with medications and with epilepsy surgery, as well as in the continuous video EEG monitoring of critically ill and obtunded patients.
Dr. de Padua firmly believes that “good seizure control” consists of seizure freedom without treatment side effects, and that with continued efforts in expert hands, the majority of epilepsy patients can achieve this goal.
She has two children, a son who is a senior at Lehigh University, and a daughter who is graduating from high school in the spring. Dr. de Padua will be seeing patients at our Bethlehem office, 1417 Eighth Avenue, Bethlehem.
